His Faith

Nathan's faith is secure. And often times I feel it's stronger than mine. I can't imagine being married to someone who didn't love and follow Jesus. If that's your situation, I think you should read the 1st half of this chapter, but I'm going to focus on the 2nd:

When healing a blind man, Jesus said "According to your faith let it be with you" (Matt 9:29).
+ Reevaluate your level of trust in God +

We have a certain amount of control in our live and can, to some extent, determine how things are going to turn out for us. Our lives don't have to be left up to chance! - Faith will help determine our outcome!!

"We all have times of doubt, ... but sometimes we doubt not whether He is ABLE to help us, .... but if He DESIRES to have an immediate impact on our lives."

I don't struggle with those too often if at all. I think for me it's more of a fear than doubt. It's more like "Everything is going good now, but something bad is going to happen so God can test me and see how much I really love and trust Him. What if He takes Nathan? What if Nathan looses his job? What if, What if, What if?"

The bottom line is that it's coming from a heart and mind that don't fully understand the character of God. See, it's not just that He's loving, He IS Love. He IS Mercy, and Peace, and Faithfulness, and Joy, and Hope. Those things are not just found IN Him - they are in very essence, His being. and HE wants the best for me. He desires to speak more blessings and more goodness into my life than I could ever sit down and dream of. THAT is the kind of God I serve. He wants the best for me and ANYTHING He sends my way is for THAT purpose. I have to trust in that or I don't know the One whom I've put my faith in.

"Jesus said of any man who has faith to believe in Him, "out of his heart will flow rivers of living water" (John 7:38). That alone can be enough to wash away a lifetime of pain, trouble, fear, sorrow, apathy, hopelessness, failure, and doubt."

Dear Jesus, help me to understand more of who You are so that my faith may increase. Pour into my life to the point where I can't deny You and I can trust You fully. Put a longing on our hearts to talk with you and hear Your voice. Give us and understanding of what it means to bask in Your presence and not just ask for things. Lord, You've said that "faith comes from hearting, and hearing by the Word of God" (Romans 10:17). Feed our soul with Your Word so that our faith grows big enough to believe that You make all things possible. I pray that we will live by the kind of faith-filled love You've called us to experience. May we know with certainty "how great is Your goodness, which You have laid upon those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You" (Psalm 31:19) Amen.
