His Fears

He argues that he's not but I definitely believe that he's perfect. Well, minus like 3%. but 97 ain't bad!

I read off the list of things most guys fear and asked if any bothered him. His response? "I've already done what I can to avoid those things and worrying about them wouldn't be constructive."
I KNOW! Geez! I can't even think like that! Grr. Well, anyway, I'm hoping that he's just got a really good resolve and the Lord blesses him for the efforts he takes to not give into sin by protecting his mind - unlike me and 99.6% of the world. *Sigh*

However, I can pray that he has continued and growing fear for the Lord.

When we have fear for the Lord, God promises to

  • Deliver us from our enemies - 2 Kings 17:39
  • Protect us from evil - Proverbs 16:6
  • Keep His eye on us - Psalm 33:18
  • Show us His mercy - Luke 1:50
  • Give us riches and honor - Proverbs 22:4
  • Supply everything we need - Psalm 34:9
  • Reveal all we need to know - Psalm 25:14
  • Bless our children and grandchildren - Psalm 103:17
  • Give us confidence - Proverbs 14:26
  • A satisfying life - Proverbs 19:23
  • Longevity - Proverbs 10:27
  • The desires of our hear - Psalm 145:19

Dear Lord, I thank You that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind. I thank You that Nathan has learned to protect his mind and not think idle thoughts. I pray that the Fear of the Lord is inbedded in every fiber of our being and we teach it to our children one day.

"The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord" - Isaiah 11:2

Psalm 34:7; 4 /23:4/ 27:1

Isaiah 41:10
