Without a vision for the future, we die a little bit each day "Where there is no vision, the people perish" (Proverbs 29:18).
Sensing the general direction your life is taking and having hope that something good is on the horizon - You do have a purpose, and the future is bright.
As Christians, our eyes are set heavenward, awaiting an eternity with our Love. Here on earth, God has a specific plan and purpose for each of us - and for our marriages - that we need to pray will be revealed to us and then strive through Christ, to complete.
"If you're husbands eyes get so focused on the day-to-day details of living that he loses his vision for the future, your prayers can lift his sights. They can help him see that God is his future and he needs to run his life in a way that invests in that."
I'm really excited to see where God takes Nathan and I. In our own specific purposes and also in the one He's planned for our marriage. We're not sure what He's got in mind, but we're praying and hoping to find out. We're also trying to follow His lead and be open. We're planning on attending a Global Vision conference at our Church in February. Our mission may not be "global" but He might speak to us there. We're pretty excited about it. And, it's away to help and support our church. Even if in the end it's just by prayer, we'll have a better understanding of what to pray FOR.
"God doesn't want us to know the future, He wants us to know Him. He wants us to trust Him to guide us into the future one step at a time. In order to understand God's leading we must seek Him for every step."
"We must also stay close enough to hear His answer. The Lord is the giver of vision; pray that your husband looks to Him for it. With God, his future is secure."
Dear Jesus, I pray that You would give Nathan and I a vision for our future. Help us to trust in every fiber of our being that Your plans are for our good and to give us a hope and a future. Fill us with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that we may have a walk worth of You, fully pleasing You, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God (Col 1:9-10). May we live with leading from the Holy Spirit and not walk in doubt and fear of what may happen. Help us to mature and grow in You daily, submitting to You all our dreams and desires. Give us God-ordained goals and show us how to conduct ourselves in ways that always invest in our future. I pray that we will be in service for You all the days of our lives. Keep us from losing our sense of purpose and fill us with the ope for our future as "anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast" (Hebrews 6:19). Give us our hearts desire and the "heritage of those who fear Your Name" (Psalm 61:5). Amen.

the future[b] of the wicked will be cut off.
