His Talk

A man who:
Brags. ( a fool/inactivity -Ecc 5:3)
Complains. (Phil 2:14-15)
Mean. (Eph 4:31)
Speaks without thinking about it first. (Prov 15:28)
Malicious (destroys himself - Proverbs 18:21)

Our words can

  • Justify or condemn us (Matt 12:37)
  • Corrupt or dishonor us (Prov 15:23)
  • Build up or break down the soul (Prov 15:4)
  • Lead us to ruin or save our lives (Prov 13:3)

Keeps is mouth and tongue from evil keeps his soul from troubles - Prov 21:23

Shows a reflection of our hearts - Mat 12:34

If he is speaking like this he is suffering from a negative heart over-flow. Pray for the Holy Spirit to convict his heart, fill it with His love, peace, and joy and teach him a new way to talk. This should definitely be applied to me :(

Dear Jesus, I want to thank You for Nate. He's so modest, considerate and careful with his words. I thank You that he's resolved that complaining doesn't help anything. Help me to get there! Guard my mouth so that I only speak words that are edifying and speak life. Help me to not be a grumbler or complainer, a cusser, or a destroyer. Fill me with Yourself so that's what comes out of my heart and mouth. Help us to not miscommunicate or would one another. Help us to show each other respect and speak words that encourage, share our feelings openly and come to mutual agreements without strife. Be in our midst so that we can agree and let the words of our mouths and the mediations of our hearts be pleasing in Your sight O Lord, our strength and our redeemer. Amen.
