His Priorities

1st off: You have to have your priorities in the same order you want his:
  1. God
  2. Spouse
  3. Children
Over:
  • Work
  • School/Projects
  • Home
  • Friends
  • Activities/Interests

Two Big Wrenches
Men: Work
Women: Children (Especially when young).

1. Priorities doesn't always = amount of time spent on them.
2. It's not so much the amount of time as much as the fact that you take time to make him feel like a priority.
  • Greet him in the morning 1st thing with a smile and a hug
  • Ask him if there's anything he wants or needs done for him today.
  • Let him know if that you are praying for him and ask if there's anything specific he wants you to pray about.
  • Check in on him during the day just because :)

Priorities have to do with the position in the heart. Even with all the things pressing on us, if we ask God to order our priorities and follow His leading, He can give us to strength to keep this list straight.

"If your schedule doesn't allow time with God and draw on His strength, then rework your priorities and make a new schedule. The old one is not working."

Dear Jesus, I proclaim You Lord over my life. Help me to seek You first and set my priorities in Your perfect order. Reveal to me the right list and help me to follow it. Show me how to demonstrate to Nathan that he is second in my heart. Mend times that I have caused him to doubt that. I pray for his priorities to be in perfect order as well. Be Lord and Ruler over his heart and time. Help him to chose the simplicity of life that will allow him to have alone time with You, a place to be quiet with You each day. Speak to him about making Your Word, prayer, and praise a priority. Enable him to place over other things in his life and You above it all. I pray that he will seek You first and submit his all to you so the pieces will fit perfectly. Amen.
